
Katra, April 10, 2026: The Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board (SMVDSB) reiterated its commitment to developing world-class sports infrastructure and nurturing talent following the historic performance of para-archer Payal Nag on the international stage.
The 18-year-old, trained at the Shrine Board Sports Complex in Katra, won gold at the World Para Archery Series Final in Bangkok in April 2026, defeating her idol, Sheetal Devi, 139-136 in a closely contested final.
Coming from Odisha and recognized as the world's first limbless archer, Payal's achievement reflects exceptional courage, resilience, and determination, bringing pride to the nation.
