
Bhubaneswar, March 30 The names of 7.68 lakh voters in Odisha were removed from the electoral roll for various reasons from June 2025 to March 22 this year, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi told the state assembly on Monday.
Responding to a written question from BJD legislator Ranendra Pratap Swain, the chief minister said that the names of 2,03,396 deceased individuals were removed from the electoral roll during the period.
Similarly, the names of 4,08,132 voters were removed due to their relocation, and 1,54,318 voters were removed because their names appeared in multiple locations, he said.
In addition to the above, the names of another 2,646 voters were removed from the electoral roll for other reasons, he said.
Majhi stated that 5,67,034 individuals had applied to be added to the voter list during the period.
