Amaravati, March 10 Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu on Tuesday directed officials to take proactive measures to minimize the impact of the US-Israel and Iran conflict on key sectors in the state.
Discussing the possible implications of the situation in the Gulf countries, the chief minister instructed officials to closely monitor the supply of essential commodities such as LPG and assess potential disruptions.
"Officials should continuously assess the impact of the conflict and take proactive measures so that no crisis arises in sectors such as LPG supply, poultry, and horticulture," Naidu said in an official release.
He noted that all aspects related to the Gulf countries could be affected and emphasized the need for preparedness to prevent any crisis.
Naidu directed officials to coordinate with the Ministry of External Affairs to ensure the safety and well-being of Non-Resident Telugu people residing in Gulf nations.
He also instructed officials from the Real Time Governance System (RTGS) and other departments to form a team to continuously monitor the situation in war-affected regions.
Meanwhile, the CM also reviewed several governance issues, including power supply, education, sand supply, and citizen services provided by electricity distribution companies (DISCOMs).
The officials informed Naidu that power consumption in the state has reached a peak of over 14,000 MW this year.
He directed DISCOMs to conduct an energy audit and submit a report to ensure that no issues arise regarding power supply across the state.
Similarly, the CM also directed officials to focus on aspects such as syllabus implementation, mid-day meals, and maintaining clean classrooms in schools and colleges.
Naidu further instructed officials to organize a mass housewarming program for 2.5 lakh beneficiaries on the day of the Ugadi festival and ensure that official letters reach them through local public representatives.
He reiterated that sand should be supplied across the state only at the government-fixed price and instructed officials to resolve complaints related to sand supply immediately.
The officials should expedite the development of the proposed drone city at Orvakal and establish a Remote Pilot Training Centre (RPTC) with support from the Directorate General of Civil Aviation, he said.
