March 29, New Delhi: Proceedings are taking place at the Kathmandu District Court against former Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli and former Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak in a negligence case related to the recent protests by Gen Z.
Lekhak was brought to court for an extension of his pre-trial detention, with the hearing taking place under tight security and amidst protests by supporters outside the premises. Officials stated that Oli may not appear in person due to health concerns and could participate in the hearing via video conferencing. A large number of lawyers have gathered as the court considers whether the accused should remain in custody.
