February 18, New Delhi – Norway's Tormod Frostad won gold in the men's freestyle skiing big air final at the Winter Olympics, while defending champion Birk Ruud finished eighth in a highly competitive and exciting event.

U.S. skier Mac Forehand took silver, while Austria's Matej Svancer earned bronze, and Ruud was left without a medal. With the top two scores out of three jumps determining the winner, Frostad achieved a near-perfect score of 195.5 out of a maximum of 200. Forehand and Svancer scored 193.25 and 191.25 respectively.

Switzerland defeated Germany 8-4 to remain undefeated in the men's curling competition and secure their spot in the semi-finals, where they will be joined by Canada. Canada clinched their top-four spot with a win over world champions Britain, whom they have a poor past record against.

Meanwhile, Sweden's title defense ended earlier after they suffered their sixth defeat of the competition and were eliminated from playoff contention. Although they returned to winning ways with a 7-4 win over Norway, their victory was overshadowed by their overall poor performance.
