
Omar Abdullah inaugurated and laid foundation stones for development projects worth ₹84.41 crore in Ganderbal, covering healthcare, sanitation, water supply, roads, and urban infrastructure. The initiatives include a CT scan facility, STP, town beautification, and upgrades to multiple roads and schools.
Srinagar, February 24: Omar Abdullah on Monday laid foundation stones and inaugurated key development projects worth ₹84.41 crore in the Ganderbal constituency, aimed at strengthening urban infrastructure, healthcare, water supply, roads, and public services.
These projects include ₹770 lakh for the beautification and development of Ganderbal town and ₹750.78 lakh for the construction of a road from Bus Adda to District Hospital, including widening of Mirani Chowk.
A significant boost to healthcare was provided by the inauguration of a ₹840 lakh CT Scan Machine at District Hospital Ganderbal. A 4.5 MLD Sewage Treatment Plant (STP) under SBM 2.0, constructed at a cost of ₹1,999.20 lakh, was also launched to enhance sanitation infrastructure.
Through e-inauguration, the Chief Minister dedicated Water Supply Schemes (WSS) at Urpash Naderbagh (₹679.14 lakh), Buderkund (₹399 lakh), and Manasbal (₹130 lakh). Road upgradation works worth ₹1,288.40 lakh and school upgradation projects worth ₹902.69 lakh were also inaugurated.
Additionally, e-foundation stones were laid for Inner Link Roads from Treeza Safapora to Lar (₹302.11 lakh) and development of Kohistan Colony Canal Roads (₹379.62 lakh).
The Chief Minister was accompanied by Advisor Nasir Aslam Wani and Minister for Health Sakeena Itoo.
The projects are expected to provide a major push to healthcare, sanitation, water supply, road connectivity, and overall urban infrastructure in Ganderbal.
