One Health Initiative Boosts Rabies Prevention in Doda.webp

DODA, February 16: A one-day capacity building and sensitization program under the One Health framework for the National Rabies Control Program (NRCP) was organized at the Government Nursing College, Doda, by the District Surveillance Unit (IDSP) under the District Health Society.

The program involved participation from the Health, Animal Husbandry, and Municipal departments. Assistant Commissioner of Revenue, Ashraf Parveez, and the Incharge Principal of Government Medical College, Doda, emphasized collective responsibility, timely reporting of animal bites, management of stray dogs, and public awareness to achieve a rabies-free district.

The sessions focused on surveillance, case management, vaccination, and interdepartmental coordination. The program concluded with stakeholders reaffirming their commitment to effective rabies prevention and control.
