
DODA, FEBRUARY 20: The Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) of Thathri, Sheetal Sharma, conducted a thorough inspection of ongoing development works and civic infrastructure throughout the town, issuing clear, time-bound directives to expedite pending projects.
Accompanied by the Tehsildar of Thathri, the Executive Engineer of the Public Works Department (R&B), the Assistant Executive Engineer of the Jal Shakti Department, and the Executive Officer of the Municipal Committee Thathri, the SDM assessed progress at multiple locations.
During a review of works along the circular route near the Army Gate, the SDM instructed the Executive Engineer, PWD (R&B), to complete the retaining wall within a week to facilitate smooth vehicular movement ahead of the proposed culvert construction. The Station House Officer of Police Station Thathri was directed to regulate traffic during the execution of the works to minimize inconvenience to commuters.
Leakages in water supply pipelines detected near the circular road and outside the State Bank of India branch were also addressed. The Jal Shakti Department was ordered to carry out immediate repairs to restore uninterrupted water supply and allow pending concrete works to proceed.
The SDM also took note of an unauthorized tea stall shed near the office of the Assistant Registrar Cooperative and directed the Executive Officer, Municipal Committee, along with the Tehsildar, to remove the encroachment and submit a compliance report promptly.
While inspecting the tile-laying work from National Academy Nallah to the Main Chowk, deficiencies in execution were observed. The concerned contractor was instructed to relay the tiles as per prescribed standards under the supervision of the Executive Officer, Municipal Committee.
Reiterating the importance of accountability, quality workmanship, and strict adherence to deadlines, the SDM called for coordinated inter-departmental efforts to ensure timely completion of all civic projects in the larger public interest.
