Open District Cricket Tournament Boosts Anti-Drug Awareness in Kathua.webp

KATHUA, FEBRUARY 22: The Kathua District Administration, in collaboration with the Social Welfare Department, launched the Open District Cricket Tournament as part of the "Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan" (Drug-Free India Campaign) to promote sports and raise awareness about drug abuse among young people.

The tournament, held across various sub-divisions, featured matches in Billawar, Basohli, Hiranagar, and Bani, all supervised by local ADCs and SDMs. The opening day results included victories for A.K. Billawar, M.K. Deccan Charges Billawar, Plassi CC, Basohli Warriors, Hiranagar CC, Mukesh II CC, and Backen teams.

Participants were provided with refreshments, and the winning teams will proceed to subsequent rounds, culminating in a grand finale at the Kathua District Headquarters. The initiative aims to engage young people in positive activities and strengthen anti-drug awareness through sports.
