February 17, New Delhi — In an overnight operation on Monday, the Indian Coast Guard, along with the Gujarat Anti-Terrorism Squad, intercepted a foreign fishing vessel suspected of drug smuggling near the purported International Maritime Boundary Line.
Despite the pitch-dark conditions, the ICG ship located the suspect using human and technical surveillance. A thorough search recovered 203 packets, each containing one kilogram of a crystalline substance suspected to be drugs.
The apprehended vessel has been taken to Porbandar for further investigation and chemical analysis. This operation highlights the strong coordination between the ICG and ATS in achieving coastal security objectives.
