
Jammu, March 18 The General Officer Commanding (GOC) of the Rising Star Corps, Lieutenant General Rajan Sharawat, reviewed the operational preparedness of troops in the Machhedi sector of Kathua district in Jammu and Kashmir on Wednesday.
The Bani-Machhedi mountainous area in Kathua district has witnessed several attacks and encounters in the last two years. It is considered a route for infiltration into Doda, Kishtwar, and Udhampur districts from the International Border (IB).
"The GOC of the Rising Star Corps reviewed the operational preparedness of troops in the Bani-Machhedi sector (Kathua district)," said the defence PRO, Jammu, on X.
The GOC praised their battle readiness, high morale, and unwavering commitment to mission success under all conditions.
To prevent infiltration, the Army deployed several companies in the high-altitude Bani-Machhedi area last year.
