Rajya Sabha Chairman C.P. Radhakrishnan and Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla have rejected the motion notice submitted by opposition members to remove Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar.
The Rajya Sabha Secretariat and the Lok Sabha Secretariat, in separate communications, informed that after careful consideration of the motion notice and a thorough and objective assessment of all relevant aspects and issues involved, the Chairman of the Rajya Sabha and the Speaker of the Lok Sabha have refused to accept the motion notice.
Earlier, the opposition had submitted motion notices in both the Lok Sabha and the Rajya Sabha, seeking to move a motion to remove the Chief Election Commissioner from the post, alleging a biased attitude.
