Guwahati, March 19 The Assam regional party, the Assam Janjati Parishad (AJP), announced candidates for two more seats on Thursday, naming its general secretary, Jagdish Bhuyan, among its nominees.
The regional outfit, part of a Congress-led alliance in the state, had announced its candidates for eight seats on Tuesday.
Bhuyan will contest from the Sadiya constituency, and Kunki Choudhury from Guwahati Central, according to the latest list released by the party.
The party has yet to secure any wins in the Assembly or Lok Sabha elections, having unsuccessfully contested the 2021 state and 2024 parliamentary elections.

The elections to the 126-member Assam assembly will be held on April 9. The votes will be counted on May 4.
In the outgoing Assembly, the ruling BJP has 64 members, while its allies, AGP, UPPL, and BPF, have 9, 7, and 3 members respectively.
