The Lok Sabha was adjourned until 3 PM amid uproar from opposition members who were demanding a discussion on the West Asia situation. When the House reconvened at 12 noon after the first adjournment, External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar gave a statement on the situation in West Asia. As he began speaking, members from the Congress, DMK, SP, and others came to the well of the House, holding placards. The presiding officer, Jagdambika Pal, asked them to refrain from displaying placards, as it was against the rules.
Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju criticized the opposition for their behavior in the House, stating that he had never seen such irresponsible opposition in his life. He said that the opposition had submitted a notice regarding a resolution against the Speaker of the Lok Sabha, and this is listed for discussion today. Rijiju also stated that the opposition is confused and demanding a discussion on other issues today.
Despite the Chair's request, the opposition continued to protest, which led to the adjournment of the House until 3 PM.
Earlier, when the Lok Sabha met at 11:00 AM for proceedings, the House paid tribute to the sitting MP from Shillong and leader of the Voice of the People Party, Dr. Ricky Andrew J. Syngkon, who had recently passed away. The House also paid tribute to the four former members, including Kumari Sushila Tririya, Devi Bux Singh, Purnmasi Ram, and K.P. Unnikrishnan. The members of the House also observed a moment of silence as a mark of respect for the deceased. After paying tribute, the House was adjourned until 12:00 noon.
