A one-day training program on the organic cultivation of agricultural crops and medicinal plants was organized for farmers at the Krishi Vigyan Kendra Samba in Samba, by the Himalayan Forest Research Institute, Shimla, with financial support from the Compensatory Afforestation Fund Management and Planning Authority.
Experts highlighted organic farming techniques, sustainable harvesting of medicinal plants, organic certification, and the use of bio-fertilizers and vermicompost to improve soil fertility and farmers' income. Scientists also demonstrated the application of bio-fertilizers using drones.
Approximately 50 farmers from the Samba district participated in the program and gained valuable knowledge about organic farming and medicinal plant cultivation.
