March 18, New Delhi – India's top badminton players will kick off their campaigns at the Orleans Masters tournament in France today.
Former world number 1, Kidambi Srikanth, and rising star, Ayush Shetty, will compete against Lee Chia Hao and Magnus Johannesen, respectively, in Paris.
In the women's singles category, Tanvi Sharma, who won a silver medal at the BWF World Junior Championships, will face Supanida Katethong.
Malvika Bansod is also returning after recovering from a long-term knee injury and will compete against Sung Shuo Yun.
Senior shuttler HS Prannoy has withdrawn due to a shoulder injury.
Meanwhile, India's top doubles pair, Satwiksairaj Rankireddy–Chirag Shetty, along with PV Sindhu and Lakshya Sen, have decided to skip the tournament.
