
February 27th, Aizawl: The Central Bureau of Communication (CBC), Aizawl Field Office, under the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Government of India, organized a special outreach program and publicity campaign today, focusing on the themes of "Nari Shakti" (Women Power) and "Developed India@2047." The event was held at the Social Amelioration Society (DDU-GKY), Chawlhhmun, in the Aizawl district.
The program was attended by David Lalhumhima, Centre Manager of the Society. Speaking at the event, he expressed gratitude to the CBC for the initiative and emphasized the crucial responsibility citizens hold in achieving the vision of a developed India by 2047. Shri Jerry Lalmuansanga, Assistant Professor, Department of Political Science, Government Aizawl North College, served as the resource person. Through a detailed PowerPoint presentation, he spoke at length about empowerment at every stage, highlighting improved health, nation-building, education and literacy, social welfare, financial inclusion, economic empowerment, and safety. He also outlined the objectives and the four core pillars identified by the government, while discussing the challenges and obstacles ahead.
Earlier in the day, Shri Lalginlen Lhouvum from the CBC Field Office, Aizawl, delivered the welcome address and moderated the session. Dr. Rajeev Lourmebam, Head of CBC, delivered the keynote address, educating participants on the department's various schemes and flagship programs, as well as the role of the CBC. Presentations were also made to the dignitaries present.
The program concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Pi Mankhawlkim of CBC Aizawl, who thanked the staff and students of the Social Amelioration Society for their participation. The event ended with a quiz competition and light refreshments.
