Mumbai, March 22 Actress Deepika Padukone stepped out for lunch on Sunday afternoon with her husband, Ranveer Singh, amidst the ongoing buzz about her silence on social media in support of her husband's recent blockbuster, "Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge."
As the couple made their first public appearance after the movie's release, the excited crowd couldn't contain their enthusiasm.
As soon as Ranveer appeared in a casual outfit, his fans started chanting "Babbar Sher."
Deepika, dressed in a classic white T-shirt and blue denim, couldn't stop smiling and gave a charming smile.
Despite tight security, Ranveer smiled and waved at the crowd. Deepika also shared smiles as the couple made their way through the crowd of fans.
Recently, Deepika sparked a social media debate after she chose not to attend the special screening of "Dhurandhar 2."
However, the very next day, she was seen attending a concert in Mumbai with her in-laws, further fueling the online debate.
Some netizens also pointed out that Deepika did not post any social media content in support of Ranveer or "Dhurandhar 2."
They compared her to Yami Gautam, who has been actively supporting her husband and the film's director, Aditya Dhar.
A tweet read, "Yami Gautam: embodies the perfect wife. She stood by her husband, Aditya Dhar, when no one knew him, and now, when everyone is praising him. That's what a perfect wife looks like. In contrast, there's Deepika Padukone, who reportedly had relationships with other men while committed to Ranveer Singh. Despite her husband's blockbuster, #Dhurandhar (#Dhurandhar2), which is on everyone's lips, she didn't tweet, mention, or say a single word about it. Why settle for a partner who can't cheer for you or feel proud of your achievements?"
One of the users commented, "Deepika Padukone wrote long paragraphs on Instagram about Gaza and JNU, but didn't post even a single story to congratulate her husband, Ranveer Singh, and the cast of Dhurandhar 2 on their success. This speaks volumes!!"
Meanwhile, Deepika has refrained from participating in the ongoing online discussion.
