Lahore, April 4 Pakistan's Defence Minister Khawaja Asif warned India on Saturday that it would retaliate with a strike in Kolkata if India engaged in any "future misadventures."
"If India attempts to stage a false flag operation this time, then, God willing, we will respond in Kolkata," Asif said while speaking to reporters in his hometown of Sialkot, about 130 km from Lahore.
He claimed that there were reports that a false-flag operation had been planned, either by their own people or by Pakistanis held in detention, involving the placement of bodies somewhere and claiming, "They were terrorists and had done this and that."
However, he did not provide any evidence to support his claim.
On Thursday, Asif said that Pakistan's response to any attack would be "swift, calibrated, and decisive."
Asif was responding to the remarks made by his Indian counterpart, Rajnath Singh, who had earlier said that any "misadventure" by India's neighbor in the prevailing situation would invite an "unprecedented and decisive" action.
The attack in Pahalgam, which took place on April 22 last year, resulted in a four-day conflict between the two countries.
