Islamabad, March 2 Pakistan's offensive against the Afghan Taliban was ongoing, with its security forces destroying an ammunition depot, state media reported on Monday.

Pakistan launched "Operation Ghazab lil Haq" last week after forces of the Afghan Taliban attacked 53 locations along the more than 2,600-kilometer-long border.

Information and Broadcasting Minister Attaullah Tarar said on Sunday that Pakistan had killed 415 members of the Afghan Taliban and injured more than 580 in the ongoing military operation.

State-run Pakistan Television (PTV) reported that Pakistani forces had destroyed an ammunition depot in Khost, as the army's "vigorous and powerful counter-attacks" against the Afghan Taliban's aggression were continuing.

"The Pak Army effectively destroyed the ammunition depot of Fitna al-Khawarij and the Afghan Taliban in Khost. Fitna al-Khawarij and the Afghan Taliban regime are facing a complete retreat on every front after their unprovoked aggression on the Pak-Afghan border," it reported.

Afghan sources said that Pakistan had expanded air attacks to the Bagram air base, but there was no official confirmation from the Pakistani side.

Meanwhile, there is no end in sight to the conflict as Pakistani forces are dismantling the Taliban's security apparatus, which was used to stage an attack on Thursday that led to the current phase of fighting, according to security sources.

Efforts were made by the Gulf countries, including Qatar and Saudi Arabia, soon after the conflict began, but the situation in West Asia apparently overshadowed the tension between Pakistan and Afghanistan.
