Pakistan Misadventures Will Trigger Decisive Response

Pakistan Misadventures Will Trigger Decisive Response.webp

Thiruvananthapuram, April 2 Defence Minister Rajnath Singh said on Thursday that any "misadventure" by India's neighbour, Pakistan, in the current situation would invite an "unprecedented and decisive" response.

Singh, speaking at a Sainik Samman Sammelan in the poll-bound state of Kerala, said that following the April 2025 terror attack in Pahalgam that claimed 26 lives, India had destroyed the terrorist hideouts and infrastructure in Pakistan.

He argued that after the Pahalgam attack, Indian forces, during Operation Sindoor, brought Pakistan to its knees within 22 minutes, and it was the biggest operation against terrorism yet.

"I would like to tell you that the operation is not over yet. If Pakistan repeats such actions, our armed forces will give a befitting response that they will never forget. What will happen this time will be an unprecedented action," he said.

Singh further stated that in the current situation, "our neighbour (Pakistan) can do anything."

"If it does, then, as I have told you, India's response will be unprecedented and decisive," he asserted.

The union minister said that under Prime Minister Narendra Modi, national security has been strengthened and the government's attitude and mode of action have changed.

He pointed to "Operation Sindoor – India's response to the Pahalgam terror attack of April 2025 that claimed 26 lives" as evidence.

He said that during the Congress-led UPA governments at the Centre, terror attacks were rampant in the country, with no action being taken against them.

However, the NDA government has curbed terror attacks and taken decisive action against terrorism.

"Whether it was the surgical strikes after the Uri terror attack, or the air strikes in response to the Pulwama bombing of Indian security personnel vehicles, or Operation Sindoor in retaliation for the Pahalgam incident, we have dealt a strong blow to terrorism," he said.

He said that India has zero tolerance towards terrorism and does not hesitate to take action against it on both sides of the border.
