
Peshawar, March 22 Security forces killed two terrorists belonging to the banned TTP after they attempted to attack a police station under construction in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province in northwest Pakistan on Sunday, police said.
The banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) are referred to as "Fitna al Khawarij" by the state.
In the Kurram district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, workers were engaged in construction with police officials present for security when the "Fitna al Khawarij" demanded that the work cease. This led to a confrontation with the police, during which two terrorists were killed, police officials said.
The terrorists also kidnapped several workers and police officers. However, negotiations were held with tribal elders, which resulted in their release, the officials said.
Meanwhile, one person was killed and three others were injured after a mortar shell fell in the Para Chamkani area of Kurram, police said.
