March 19, New Delhi: US Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard told lawmakers that Russia, China, North Korea, Iran, and Pakistan have been researching and developing a variety of novel, advanced, and traditional missile delivery systems with nuclear and conventional payloads that could put the US homeland within range.
She stated that Pakistan's development of long-range ballistic missiles could potentially include intercontinental ballistic missiles with a range capable of striking the US.
Addressing lawmakers, Gabbard said that state actors pose a broader risk by seeking new capabilities in kinetic and cyber warfare.
She added that the United States' secure nuclear deterrent continues to ensure safety in the homeland against strategic threats.
