March 17, New Delhi – India has unequivocally condemned the barbaric Pakistani airstrike on a hospital in Kabul, calling it a serious violation of international norms.
In a statement, the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) describes the strike as a cowardly and unconscionable act of violence. The MEA further stated that the strike has resulted in the deaths of a large number of civilians in a facility that cannot be justified as a military target.
The statement further says that Pakistan is now trying to portray the massacre as a military operation. This heinous act of aggression by Pakistan is also a blatant assault on Afghanistan's sovereignty and a direct threat to regional peace and stability.
This reflects Pakistan's persistent pattern of reckless behavior and its repeated attempts to externalize internal failures through increasingly desperate acts of violence beyond its borders.
There is no faith, no law, and no morality that can justify the deliberate targeting of a hospital and its patients. The international community must hold the perpetrators of this criminal act accountable and ensure that Pakistan's wanton targeting of civilians in Afghanistan ceases immediately.
India extended its deepest condolences to the victims' families, wished a speedy recovery to the injured, and reiterated its support for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Afghanistan.
