
New Delhi, March 24 Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta met the families of the deceased in the Palam fire accident last week, which claimed nine lives, and expressed her deepest condolences to them.
She visited Palam in South West Delhi to meet the affected families and said that the Delhi government stood with them in complete sensitivity during their difficult time.
"The untimely death of innocent people in the horrific Palam fire is extremely painful and heart-wrenching. I met the bereaved family today and expressed my deepest condolences and consoled them. The pain of losing one's own is unbearable and cannot be expressed in words," she said in a post on X.
The chief minister said that the government was committed to providing all possible assistance, relief, and support to the family.
Nine family members, including three children, were killed and three others were injured in the fire at a multi-story residential building in Palam last Wednesday.
The chief minister has ordered a magisterial enquiry into the incident. She has also announced financial assistance to the family.
