Palaniswami: AIADMK to Finalize Alliance Constituencies.webp

New Delhi/ Chennai, March 20 The AIADMK will finalize seat-sharing arrangements with the BJP and other allies and formally announce the constituencies allocated to the parties in four days, the party’s general secretary Edappadi K Palaniswami informed on Friday.

Denying any difficulties in the negotiations, Palaniswami, who had called on Union Home Minister Amit Shah at his residence on Thursday night, said the talks were proceeding smoothly and would be resolved amicably.

"You will know everything in four days. We will finalize and announce the constituencies that have been allocated. Unlike the DMK alliance, these talks will be smooth and perfect... Our objective is to allocate these seats to our allies where they have a good chance of winning," the former Chief Minister told reporters before leaving for Chennai.

He said BJP Tamil Nadu in-charge Piyush Goyal would visit the state on Saturday to continue the negotiations.

His meeting with Shah on Thursday night was cordial, and they discussed the political situation in Tamil Nadu, the AIADMK chief said.

Palaniswami dismissed media speculation about an alliance with the Vijay-led TVK and said, "As the general secretary of the AIADMK, I have been insisting that we have not held talks with TVK. Why do you keep raising this issue?"

Regarding whether any other party would join the NDA, Palaniswami said that it was unlikely, as the alliance has already been finalized.

In response to AIADMK Rajya Sabha MP C Ve Shanmugam's controversial remark about actress Nayanthara while criticizing Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M K Stalin's scheme, Palaniswami said, "He (Shanmugam) has apologized after realizing his mistake. Therefore, further discussion on this matter would be inappropriate."
