Palaniswami: DMK's Promises Unfulfilled, Voters Disillusioned.webp

Trichy (Tamil Nadu), March 11 AIADMK General Secretary Edappadi K Palaniswami said on Wednesday that the people of Tamil Nadu are fed up with the ruling DMK's "false and exaggerated promises."

Launching a scathing attack on the DMK government during Prime Minister Narendra Modi's rally here, Palaniswami said people are no longer going to believe Chief Minister M K Stalin.

"He has not yet fulfilled his previous election promises."

Addressing a massive NDA election rally, the Leader of Opposition alleged that the ruling DMK made over 500 promises during the 2021 assembly elections.

"I ask the chief minister, how many of these promises have actually reached the people? Whether it is the complete waiver of jewel loans or the reduction in fuel prices to the promised extent, this government has consistently betrayed the trust of the electorate," Palaniswami said.

The former chief minister further claimed that the current administration is merely "rebranding" schemes from the AIADMK era while failing to maintain law and order in the state. He highlighted the rising prices of essential commodities and the "deteriorating" fiscal health of Tamil Nadu as evidence of the DMK's "mismanagement."

"Stalin keeps saying 'Vidiyal' (dawn) has come, but the only thing that has dawned is a hike in electricity bills and property tax for the common man. The people of Trichy and the rest of Tamil Nadu are watching. They are ready to teach a fitting lesson to this regime which prioritizes family interests over public welfare," he added.
