Los Angeles, March 22 – Hollywood actress Gwyneth Paltrow doesn’t shy away from acknowledging that she benefited from nepotism.

The actress is comfortable admitting her "nepo baby" status. Paltrow, the daughter of actress Blythe Danner and film producer/director Bruce Paltrow, discussed this while receiving an award at the 2026 New York Women in Film & Television Muse Awards, as reported by 'People' magazine.

She said, "I was incredibly fortunate to be given opportunities early on, likely partly because I'm one of the original 'nepo babies'. However, I would be lying if I said that made my path clear. There were many times when the industry made it very clear that women were expected to stay in their lane and be graceful, quiet, and above all, one thing. And I've never been very good at being just one thing."

According to 'People', the 53-year-old actress also took a moment to honor her mother, Blythe Danner, who was in the audience, sharing that many of the lessons she learned from the actress known for "Meet the Parents" have influenced her own work.

She further added, "Mom, you showed me what it means to fully commit to a craft, to be incredibly creative and brave in your choices, and to carry yourself with so much grace, even when the industry sometimes makes things difficult. Thank you."

Danner wasn't the only one receiving attention, as Paltrow also highlighted the support she has received from her husband, TV and film producer Brad Falchuk, 55, and from her son, Moses Martin, 19.

"When we talk about women supporting women, which is incredibly important, we also want to acknowledge the wonderful, thoughtful, and loving men who support us and fill our hearts with love," she added.
