Chennai, February 19 Veteran politician 'Panruti' S Ramachandran announced the launch of his political party, the MGR ADMK, on Thursday.
The 88-year-old leader stated his aim is to replace "identity politics" with "ideology-based politics."
Speaking to reporters here, he said the party would be formally inaugurated at a state-level conference in neighboring Kancheepuram on February 23.
He also added that the party would not contest in the upcoming Assembly elections.
