Jammu, March 22 Panun Kashmir chairman Prof Tito Ganju on Sunday stressed the need for drafting a formal constitution for the organization, stating that the existing unwritten framework of functioning should be replaced with a codified structure to ensure clarity in roles and consistency in decision-making.

Ganju made the remarks during his first meeting after taking over the reins of Panun Kashmir, one of the leading organizations representing displaced Kashmiri Pandits, succeeding former chairman Ajay Chrungoo.

Panun Kashmir convened the activists' meet of 'Nirvasan Samvat 37' where the organization deliberated on structural, organizational, and community-related issues, culminating in the unanimous adoption of a resolution to undertake an Ayodhya Yatra in September, a spokesperson of the organization said.

Addressing the meeting, Ganju focused on the need for drafting a formal constitution for Panun Kashmir.

He said a written constitution would ensure institutional continuity and serve as a reference point for future functioning.

"A codified framework will help streamline organizational processes and bring greater transparency and efficiency in its working," the chairman said.

Convenor Agnishekhar highlighted the need for restructuring within the organization, stating that changes in structure are required to address present-day requirements.

Referring to the proposed Ayodhya Yatra, he said the 'Isht Devi' of Lord Ram is Regnya Devi, thereby drawing a cultural and spiritual linkage between Kashmir and Ayodhya.

General secretary Kuldeep Raina outlined key concerns and emphasized the need for organizational preparedness, coordination, and clarity in approach in view of evolving circumstances.

The leaders emphasized that the movement must remain firmly anchored to its foundational vision.

Organizational changes must be carried out without compromising the core principles that have guided the movement over the years, they said.

The activists unanimously resolved to undertake an Ayodhya Yatra in September. The resolution was adopted collectively as a major outreach initiative, the spokesperson said.

He said the meet also deliberated on strengthening organizational mechanisms, improving communication within the cadre, and ensuring effective implementation of decisions taken at the leadership level.

The meeting also discussed an activists' workshop scheduled for May 24, which is expected to focus on cadre orientation, internal coordination and aligning organisational activities with emerging priorities.

It concluded with a focus on advancing organizational structuring, initiating the process of constitutional drafting, and undertaking planned outreach initiatives, including the proposed Ayodhya Yatra.
