New Delhi, March 18 The Parliament will convene over the next weekend, replacing the sessions on Thursday and Friday due to holidays.

The Speaker informed the Lok Sabha on Wednesday that the House will not be in session on Thursday and Friday.

While Ugadi will be celebrated on Thursday, the government has designated Friday as a holiday for Eid. Depending on the sighting of the moon, Eid will either be celebrated on Friday or Saturday.

The questions from various ministries that were scheduled to be discussed on March 19 and 20 will be presented to the Lok Sabha on Monday.

In light of the extended weekend, the House will function on March 28 and 29, the following Saturday and Sunday. However, no questions will be discussed then.

A similar announcement was made in the Rajya Sabha earlier.

The House had also functioned on weekends in previous occasions. Most recently, the Parliament had convened on February 1, a Sunday, for the presentation of the Union Budget.
