The Lok Sabha has lifted the suspension of eight opposition MPs today after the House unanimously passed a motion in this regard. The motion was moved by Minister of Parliamentary Affairs, Kiren Rijiju, proposing the immediate termination of the suspension of the members.

The MPs involved are Manickam Tagore, Amrinder Singh Raja Warring, Gurjeet Singh Aujla, Hibi Eden, Dean Kuriakose, Prashant Padole, and Kiran Kumar Reddy of the Congress, and S Venkatesan of the CPI (M). Speaker Om Birla said yesterday, during a meeting with the floor leaders of the parties in the Lok Sabha, that every party reaffirmed its commitment to upholding the dignity and decorum of the House while adhering to parliamentary traditions.

He requested the members not to display placards, banners, and AI-generated videos and pictures within the Parliament complex and to maintain the dignity of the House.

Eight opposition MPs were suspended from the remaining part of the Budget Session last month for their disruptive behaviour in the House.
