Kathmandu, March 30 Nepal's President Ramchandra Paudel has called sessions of both houses of parliament on April 2, following a recommendation from the newly formed government led by Prime Minister Balendra Shah.
Paudel has called the session of the House of Representatives (HoR) and the National Assembly on Thursday at 2:00 pm, in accordance with Article 93 (1) of the Constitution.
A cabinet meeting held at Singha Durbar earlier in the day recommended that the President call the session for Thursday.
This will be the first meeting of the HoR since last year's Gen Z protests.
Following the resignation of then-prime minister K P Sharma Oli on September 9 last year after two days of violent Gen Z protests, former chief justice Sushila Karki was appointed as the interim Prime Minister.
Karki recommended that the President dissolve the HoR, paving the way for the March 5 elections.
