New Delhi, April 2 The Budget Session of Parliament will resume on April 16 after a short break to pass bills that will increase the number of Lok Sabha seats from 543 to 816, enabling the implementation of the women's reservation law as soon as possible.
Sources said that the two Houses will reconvene for three days – April 16-18 – to consider the proposed legislation.
The government is believed to have informed the opposition parties that the Houses are likely to meet for three days starting April 16.
Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju, while speaking in the Rajya Sabha on Thursday, said that the House would meet again soon to consider a key legislation.
"We have certain bills and important issues, and we have also shared this with the opposition. We will have a very important bill in the next two-three weeks," he said.
According to the government's schedule, the House was scheduled to adjourn sine die (for an indefinite period) on April 2.
