Jaipur, April 7 BJP's Rajasthan in-charge Radha Mohan Das Agrawal said on Tuesday that Vasundhara Raje is a popular leader and is correct in saying that capable and dedicated workers should be given responsibilities.
Responding to questions about political appointments, Agarwal said that there is still sufficient time left in the government's tenure and decisions would be taken collectively at an appropriate stage.
Former Rajasthan chief minister Raje said on Monday that political appointments should be given only to loyal party workers and not to opportunists.
Addressing party workers at the state BJP office on the party's foundation day yesterday, Raje said that there are people who change parties but not their mindset, and it is important to honour those who remain loyal to the party's core ideology.
Agarwal was in Jaipur to hold a meeting with the party officebearers.
After the meeting, he said that Raje is a popular leader even today and has rightly stated that only deserving and dedicated workers should be given appointments.
On a possible Cabinet expansion, he said that the current council of ministers is functioning and is being continuously evaluated by the chief minister.
"A decision would be taken only if required," he said.
Agarwal said that the BJP is the world's largest political organisation with crores of members and lakhs of active workers engaged in strengthening it.
He said that BJP workers are experienced, committed and fearless.
On district-level appointments, he said that directions have been given to the state president, and new appointments will be made soon.
Targeting Congress, Agarwal said that the party was facing internal differences, conflicts and leadership tussles.
"Congress leaders are driven by rivalry, hostility and a sense of retaliation. Their statements reflect their past experience in government," he said.
