Panaji, March 2 The Passport Office in the Patto area of Panaji, the capital of Goa, received a bomb threat email on Monday. However, a thorough inspection of the premises revealed that it was a hoax, officials said.
A senior official at the passport center stated that the email was received at 4 am, informing about an impending bomb blast and requesting authorities to "please evacuate the public by 11 am".
The premises were evacuated and thoroughly checked, according to Bomb Disposal Squad inspector Paresh Navelkar.
"Nothing suspicious was found, after which the office was declared safe for operation," Navelkar added.
