
Srinagar, April 6 The Jammu and Kashmir Floriculture Department and Government Medical College Srinagar organized a therapeutic visit for patients to the Indira Gandhi Memorial Tulip Garden on Monday.
The visit was organized at the initiative of the director of floriculture in Kashmir, and involved coordinated efforts from GMC Srinagar and its associated hospitals, an official spokesperson said.
According to the spokesperson, the initiative aimed at promoting mental well-being, fostering social interaction, and providing a rejuvenating experience in a serene natural environment.
The event focused on patient safety, structured movement, and supervised participation, with medical teams providing on-site supervision and emergency support, he said.
The visit was jointly coordinated by Dr Shiny Mohiudin and Dr Adil Fayaz (IMHANS), Kashmir, and Altaf Ahmad, Assistant Floriculture Officer, who accompanied the group to ensure a comfortable and engaging experience.
The program incorporated key technical components, including pre-visit health screening, deployment of medical teams, and preparedness for emergency medical support, the spokesperson added.
The initiative also highlighted the department's public-friendly approach to opening its gardens, parks, and other assets to provide an opportunity to explore the beauty of the valley.
