Patna, March 20 – The historic Wheeler Senate House of Patna University, the traditional venue for the university's convocations, including the one where Nobel laureate poet Rabindranath Tagore visited in March 1936, celebrated its 100th anniversary on Friday.
However, the centennial occasion passed without a special event to mark the milestone.
"Today is a holiday at Patna University. The Wheeler Senate House is a source of pride for the university and the city, but there are no plans to hold any event here today," a senior official of the 108-year-old university told
