Amaravati, April 8 Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu on Wednesday set a deadline of March 2027 for completing resurvey 2.0 and distributing over one crore pattadar passbooks across the state.
The decisions were made during a review meeting of the revenue department, with a focus on land reforms and extending benefits to poor families.
"Officials should complete resurvey 2.0 and ensure error-free distribution of pattadar passbooks within the stipulated timeline," Naidu said, according to a press release.
He alleged that the previous YSRCP government created land disputes in the name of resurvey and said the present government is taking corrective measures to resolve them.
As part of resurvey 2.0, surveys have been completed in nearly 7,000 villages, while distribution of over 22.7 lakh passbooks is underway in about 5,700 villages, the release said.
In the remaining 1,259 villages where surveys have been completed, around nine lakh passbooks will be distributed by July this year, Naidu was quoted as saying.
He directed officials to set monthly targets and distribute around 80 lakh passbooks between July and March 2026, ensuring there is no scope for errors.
Naidu decided to remove restrictions on 1.37 lakh acres of village service lands to benefit several families.
He announced that another one lakh acres would be freed and directed officials to bring in new legislation for this purpose.
The CM said an ordinance issued in 2019 on service inam lands was allegedly not converted into law by the previous government, "causing hardship" to families.
He said the present government would enact legislation to deliver justice and extend benefits to affected families.
Naidu decided to allow registration of houses that received pattas under government housing schemes before 2016, a move expected to benefit around 75 lakh poor families.
Eligible beneficiaries will be able to register, sell, or transfer such properties, turning them into assets, the release said.
The CM said ownership rights would be granted for 9.2 lakh acres out of 13.5 lakh acres under the freehold category.
He also directed officials to digitise all revenue records and provide landowners with soft copies, secured through e-KYC and blockchain technology.
