On the occasion of Lineman Day on March 7, 2026, Singh was officially recognized for his outstanding service to the Power Development Department (PDD) and commended by the Chief Minister of J&K, Omar Abdullah. Known for his unwavering work ethic, Singh consistently risked his life to navigate extreme weather conditions, ranging from heavy snowfall to flash floods, to ensure that the remote areas of Udhampur district never remained without power for long.
Singh's most notable contribution came during the challenging period of Operation Sindoor. While the general public was advised to stay indoors due to the hazardous conditions, Singh worked tirelessly around the clock. His 24/7 commitment was instrumental in restoring electricity to Sira Latti, one of the most geographically isolated and difficult terrains in the region.
In a ceremony dedicated to honoring exceptional public service, Chief Minister Omar Abdullah presented Singh with a prestigious award, acknowledging his ability to resume power services under life-threatening circumstances. Singh, a resident of Panchayat Sira A, has earned immense respect from both the local community and his colleagues for his unwavering commitment to his duty.
