Srinagar, March 28 The People's Democratic Party (PDP) held a protest here on Saturday, accusing the Jammu and Kashmir government of ignoring the people's concerns and failing to fulfill its promises.

Numerous party leaders and workers gathered at the Press Enclave and protested against the government.

Speaking to reporters, party leader Iqbal Tramboo said that March 31 has become a "black day" for the people of Kashmir due to mounting financial pressures.

"People are facing a heavy tax burden. They are receiving exorbitant electricity bills, water fees are being demanded, and employees are not receiving their salaries," he said.

Tramboo said that the party aims to raise the people's concerns and become their voice.

"We want to tell the Omar Abdullah government that it has not fulfilled any of its promises: employees are not receiving their salaries, contractors have not been paid, and poor people are being harassed to pay their bills," he said.

The protesters later dispersed peacefully.
