Pension Grievances Rise: Over 1 Lakh Complaints Received.webp

New Delhi, March 11 More than one lakh pension-related complaints were received online through the CPENGRAMS platform last year, the Lok Sabha was informed on Wednesday.

The Centralised Pension Grievances Redress And Monitoring System (CPENGRAMS) is an online portal for the registration, tracking, and resolution of pensioners' complaints.

"On this portal, the total number of pension complaints received during the years 2023, 2024, and 2025 are 78,675, 1,12,215, and 1,07,731, respectively, while 72,902, 1,07,701, and 1,13,272 complaints, including those carried forward from the previous year, have been resolved during these years," Union Minister of State for Personnel Jitendra Singh said in a written reply.

The Ministry of Defence, Department of Financial Services (Banking Division), and the Ministry of Railways have received the highest number of complaints during these years, he said.

As a result of close coordination with stakeholders through pension adalats, monthly inter-ministerial review meetings, and annual special campaigns, there has been a significant reduction in the average resolution time, Singh said.

The current resolution time recorded in February 2026 is 19 days, the minister said.

As of March 6, 2026, the Ministry of Defence (3,699), the Ministry of Home Affairs (449), and the Ministry of Railways (263) have the highest number of pending cases, he said.
