
Prayagraj, March 11 The Allahabad High Court on Wednesday adjourned its hearing on a petition challenging an order from the Sambhal court rejecting a request for an FIR against Rahul Gandhi, the Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, over his alleged controversial remarks in 2025.
Justice Samit Gopal adjourned the hearing at the request of the petitioner's counsel, who sought an adjournment. The court fixed March 25 for the next hearing.
According to the petitioner, Simran Gupta, Gandhi allegedly made the remarks, "We are now fighting the BJP, the RSS, and the Indian State itself," during the inauguration of the AICC office in 2025.
Gupta alleges that these remarks have caused offense to public sentiments across the country.
According to the petitioner, Gandhi's alleged remark constitutes a seditious and anti-national statement deliberately made with the intent to destabilize the country.
Earlier, the court, in its order dated February 11, had observed, "The learned counsel for the petitioner(s) states that he wants to file a supplementary affidavit and prays for two weeks' time for the same. The prayer is allowed."
