Mangaluru (Karnataka), April 1 Two young men drowned after their boat capsized while they were fishing in the Phalguni River here on Wednesday, police said.
The deceased were identified as Ganesh (28) and Rayal (24), both residents of Kunjathbail, they said.
Another young man, Nithish (28), also from Kunjathbail, was rescued by locals, police said.
According to police, the three young men had gone fishing on Tuesday night, and the incident occurred in the early hours of Wednesday.
During the investigation, Nithish claimed that it happened suddenly and he did not know the reason, a senior police officer said.
The Kavoor police are investigating the matter, he added.
