In Uttar Pradesh, four people died, and twelve were injured, with several others feared to be trapped when the roof of a cold storage facility collapsed this afternoon in the Phaphamau area of the Prayagraj district. Teams from the NDRF and SDRF are conducting the rescue and relief operation. Seven JCBs are on site to clear the debris.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed deep sorrow over the incident. He announced an ex gratia payment of 2 lakh rupees from the Prime Minister's National Relief Fund to the next of kin of each deceased, and 50 thousand rupees would be given to the injured.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath also announced financial assistance of 2 lakh rupees each for the families of the deceased and 50,000 rupees each for the injured. He has directed the local administration to provide immediate relief and ensure proper medical treatment for the injured.

Meanwhile, the State government has formed a committee under the leadership of the Finance ADM, which will conduct its investigation within the next 48 hours and determine the reasons for the collapse of the cold storage facility roof.
