
March 9th, Aizawl: The Press Information Bureau (PIB), under the Ministry of Information & Broadcasting, organized a one-day media workshop, "VARTALAP," at the Lunglei Press Club today. The workshop focused on key national initiatives, including the "Vikshit Bharat Guarantee for Rozgar and Ajeevika Mission (Gramin) Act 2025" and the National AIDS & STD Control Programme.
Lunglei Deputy Commissioner Navneet Maan, IAS, was the Chief Guest at the event. In her address, she praised the PIB for organizing the timely workshop and emphasized the importance of disseminating accurate information on both government schemes and public health.
"The issue of HIV/AIDS is a significant concern for Mizoram, and particularly for Lunglei. Accurate knowledge is essential, and this is the right time for education," she stated. The DC emphasized that a healthy population, especially the youth, is crucial for achieving the national goal of a developed India (Vikshit Bharat).
The event was inaugurated by Dr. Rajeev Lourembam, IIS, Head of Office at PIB Aizawl. Other distinguished guests included Mr. CMS. Dawngliana, Vice President of Sub-Hqtrs YMA, and Mr. F. Lalngaihzuala, Vice President of MJA, as Special Guests. The workshop saw active participation from YMA and MHIP leaders, as well as local journalists.
