Advance registration for the annual Amarnath Yatra will begin on April 15 at over 550 designated bank branches across the country. The Shri Amarnath Shrine Board stated that registration will be on a first-come, first-served basis, subject to daily quotas for each route. Pilgrims aged between 13 and 70 years will be eligible, while women with more than six weeks of pregnancy will not be allowed to participate.
Registration will be conducted through Aadhaar-based biometric authentication, and permits will be issued online. Pilgrims will need to submit a valid health certificate issued by authorized medical institutions. The yatra permit will specify the chosen route – Baltal or Pahalgam – and the travel date. Authorities have advised pilgrims to follow all guidelines and complete registration in advance for a smooth pilgrimage.
