
Khandwa, April 10 All 10 pilgrims on a boat were rescued after the vessel capsized in the Narmada River in Khandwa district, Madhya Pradesh, on Friday, a police official said.
The incident occurred when the pilgrims were circumambulating the Omkareshwar Jyotirlinga, Superintendent of Police Manoj Kumar Rai told reporters.
"Between Omkar Math and Nagar Ghat, the wooden boat struck a rock and capsized. All 10 pilgrims, who were from Ranchi in Jharkhand, were wearing life jackets. They were rescued by personnel from the State Disaster Response Force and local divers," Rai said.
Two of the rescued pilgrims complained of panic and water ingestion, he added, noting that one woman was referred to a hospital in Sanawad after receiving initial medical attention.
