New Delhi, March 18 – Delhi experienced a pleasant morning on Wednesday with the minimum temperature settling at 18 degrees Celsius, 1.5 degrees above the season's average.

The Indian Meteorological Department has forecast partly cloudy skies in the afternoon, which is likely to turn into mostly cloudy skies at night, with a possibility of very light rain and drizzle accompanied by thunderstorms, lightning, and strong surface winds.

At Palam, the minimum temperature settled at 18.1 degrees Celsius, 1.7 degrees above normal, while Lodhi Road recorded 17.1 degrees Celsius, 2.1 degrees above normal.

The Ridge station recorded 16.4 degrees Celsius, the lowest among the observatories, and 1.3 degrees below normal. Ayanagar recorded a minimum of 17 degrees Celsius, 0.8 degrees above normal.

Delhi's air quality was in the 'poor' category, with the average Air Quality Index (AQI) recorded at 214, according to data from the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB).

According to the CPCB, an AQI between 0 and 50 is considered 'good', 51 to 100 'satisfactory', 101 to 200 'moderate', 201 to 300 'poor', 301 to 400 'very poor', and 401 to 500 'severe'.

The maximum temperature is expected to settle around 33 degrees Celsius.
