The Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi is becoming a significant support system for farmers in Reasi, providing direct financial assistance to help strengthen agricultural activities and improve the livelihoods of farming families.
Under the scheme, eligible farmer families receive ₹6,000 per year in three equal installments of ₹2,000 each through the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) system directly into their bank accounts. This financial assistance enables farmers to purchase seeds, fertilizers, and other essential agricultural inputs required for cultivation.
Officials said that a large number of farmers in the Reasi district are benefiting from the scheme. The assistance has helped reduce financial pressure during the sowing season and has encouraged farmers to continue farming activities with renewed confidence.
Launched by the Government of India, the PM-KISAN scheme aims to provide assured income support to small and marginal farmers across the country. In Jammu and Kashmir, thousands of farmers are benefiting from the initiative, which is helping strengthen the rural economy and support the farming community.
